Choice "A"
Clouds and Dunes near Scheveningen. Oil on Panel.
13x18 cm (5.2 x 7.2 in)

Clouds, Scheveningen
Choice "B"
Stormy Sea, Scheveningen. Oil on Panel.
13x18 cm (5.2 x 7.2 in)
Stormy waters

The use of the paint texture to communicate the maelstrom of the surf enhances the work enormously.
I've been in too many stormy seas so I prefer the clouds and dunes--a bit cheery!
Linda
Great storm energy, how wet did you get?
I like both but the angry stormy sea in B establishes a very emotional tone that appeals to me.
not wet, just cold (40 degrees) and windy (40 mph)- I got sandy from wind driven sand.
color! But the gray is a most interesting exercise in texture and very cool.
Stormy sea will have to be my favorite. Just a personal liking to the dynamics of nature. I do like the abstract nature of it as well. B is definitely my choice this week.
Monique
I can feel the sea, great texture & mood
A: the sand hill may be Scheveningen, but the clouds are definitely as seen from a high mountain, the Himalaya perhaps.
B: The cargo vessel lies very quiet in a truely stormy sea, in powerful sharp strokes!
For me : it is B!
I like the dreaminess of Stormy Sea.
There's something about the clouds in "Clouds..." that seem like they're mocking clouds.
love all that impasto!
i like the texture of the stormy sea. Hoping not to get sea sick, though.
Gotta choose choice A--it's cheerier! I like the colors of the dunes and the sky--though choice B definitely looks like the stormy sea.
